If you go down to the church at 10:00 a.m. on the first Friday in the month you could be in for a big surprise. Not only would you see a large collection of teddy bears of all shapes and sizes but their owners too - pre-school children. Accompanied by mums, dads, grandparents, even a great-granny, or carers they meet to have fun and to be reminded of God's love for each of them.

The first 15 - 20 minutes are spent in church. There is fun, songs and activities for all. Some of the action songs are accompanied by the children on their musical instruments, as well as the pianist. Afterwards coffee, squash and biscuits are served in the Stable Rooms adjacent to the church to give adults and youngsters alike the opportunity to make new friends and meet with existing ones. There are plenty of crèche and toddler toys available and also craft work and playtime for the children while the adults have an opportunity to talk.

The children bring their teddy bears to meet 'Eddy the Teddy' and wait to see what 'News', the bird puppet, has brought to show them. There is a mock birthday cake, and those children with birthdays that month blow out the candles and have their special song.

There is no charge for Teddy Bear Time and it is open to everyone. The meeting in December is special as it is the birthday celebration of Teddy Bear Time.

Enquiries should be directed in the first instance to the Church Office or telephone 01223 232255.
