Stepping Stones

Stepping Stones is the overall name for the activities held by St Andrew's for Under 5s. These comprise Baby Club, Toddler Club and Playgroup. We seek to help children step from their first week until the beginning of their school life. The OFSTED report of 2005 recognised that St Andrew's Stepping Stones provides good qualtiy day care for children. Further information can be found on the Stepping Stones website.

The steps can be seen in the accompanying diagram, detailing the activities offered by St Andrew's for Under 5s. From Teddy Bear time, to Baby Club, then Toddlers and Play Group the Under 5s of Histon can step through to the beginning of their school life with St Andrew's.

The Baby Club is open to all first-time parents, and parents with babies up to one year of age. It is held on Tuesday mornings from 10:30 until 12 noon. Parent and Baby Club meets all year round, including holidays.

The Toddler Club is open to all children under five years of age with their parents and carers. Just drop in any time between 9:30 and 11:15 on Tuesday mornings.

The Playgroup is for children from two and a half years of age up to when they start school. Many leave to start Nursery school between three and four years old. Playgroup is open three mornings (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday) a week, 9:15 to 11:50, with lunches until 1p.m.

The meetings are held in the Church Halls, High Street, Histon during school term.
