The mission of St Andrew's is to make mature and active disciples of Jesus Christ who worship God and show His love to those inside and outside the church. This is summarised in the mission statement "Putting the Church at the centre of the community".
St Andrew's is a lively mixed congregation. The church is made up of people from all ages and backgrounds reflecting the local community. We have a large Sunday School with an average of 60 children attending each week. In the adjoining Stable Rooms (a modern suite of buildings converted from the stable which once housed the village horse and trap) children are taught in their various groups. We have a creche, J-Zone Club or Jesus-Zone Club and Pathfinders. A range of activities for teenagers take place throughout the week.

We want to have low walls and deep roots. In other words, it is hopefully easy to come into St Andrew's and there are not too many barriers hindering people from joining the congregation, and our roots are firmly within Scripture.
It is now well understood that one of the many problems faced by people in Western society is that we are materially rich and time poor. Even in positive, engaging communities like Histon and Impington the pressure from this busyness combined with relative prosperity can be keenly felt by many people. One of the things that Christian communities are discovering afresh is the need to provide people with time and space to reflect on who they are, whtat their calling in life might be and to offer regular opportunities to 'take stock' and refocus their lives.
At Andrew's, Histon is a Christian community that seeks to be open to all who come looking for that kind of space and for an opportunity to explore the answers to the important questions of life. You will be made most welcome and we look forward to sharing part of the journey of discovery with you.
